Our Story!
Little Willow is a co-owned, mother-daughter business. Daughter Tara’s dream was always to open a childcare center of her own. She graduated from Salve Regina University and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. With 10+ years of experience in the childcare setting, Tara is well qualified to now have this opportunity in opening Little Willow.
Cheryl, Tara’s mother, is both a registered nurse and business leader. Cheryl's focus was in Mother-Baby and Pediatrics for most of her career. After 40 years of service at Newport Hospital she retired to run her family's business, Lil Bear Sports Pub, the exact location of Little Willow Childcare Center. Her dream to own her own center at some point in her life was about to become reality.
Though it was unfortunate “The Bear” had to close as a result of the pandemic, we are thrilled to stay in the tradition of “family business” by opening Little Willow!
Together, Tara and Cheryl have over 40 years of experience caring for children, and they would love to care for yours!
